Join the IPANZ New Professionals Leadership Team in Wellington


Are you a Wellington-based kaimahi working in the public sector, and are you looking for an opportunity to supercharge your professional development? Then join the IPANZ New Professionals’ Leadership Team (NPLT)!

Who are we?

The NPLT is based across Auckland and Wellington, and comprises of a mix of public sector and private/public sector adjacent team members. We plan and deliver events and offerings targeted at public sector professionals in the first 10 years of their careers – aka, New Professionals. These events might be panel discussions with senior leaders, a lecture style event with an expert in a particular field, or networking events. We also regularly write articles for the IPANZ journal and are looking to expand and diversify our offering - for example, by setting up a Public Sector 101 weekly training series, delivering more informal offerings like coffees and quiz nights, and delivering more hybrid events to make our programme accessible to those outside of Wellington and Auckland. What are we looking for?

We are looking for 2-3 representatives from public sector organisations in this recruitment round. For the remainder of 2024, we are looking to increase the frequency of our offerings and to help bring fresh thinking to what we can deliver for New Professionals. Ideally, you would also be looking to develop your event management and leadership skills and are passionate about fostering connections across, and supporting the development of, public sector new professionals. As a leadership team, we meet once a month on a Wednesday to discuss upcoming kaupapa in the pipeline.
