Auckland Two Years on - A metropolitan centre emerges

 

IPANZ with the support of Westpac, Vector and the Office of the Mayor of Auckland have put together this programme to reflect on two years since the emergence of Auckland as a metropolitan centre. The aim to highlight relevant issues and how we can contribute to public understanding of its role in New Zealand's future.

"Metropolitan centres: shifting patterns of governance and economic Management"

Presented by Prof. Dr. Daniel Kübler (by interactive video conference) - The Auckland experience in an international perspective: issues of multi-level governance.

 

"City Networks: Know your place."

Presenated by David Maré

The growing importance of connections within cities and also of connections between cities. City network considerations for NZ cities, and in particular Auckland’s place as New Zealand’s leading city, and a medium-sized city in the Australasian city network.
