Looking Back, Looking Forward - Pandemic Management

Michael Baker, Professor of Public Health at the University of Otago spoke with IPANZ members about New Zealand's response to the COVID-19 pandemic - looking back at the management of the pandemic, but also looking forward to the readiness of our system for what might come next. He spoke about a range of issues, including the decision-making processes, the elimination strategy, managing uncertainty and risk, and the ideal role of scientists in relation to the public service, and ended the session with some recommendations for the future.
